Blue Shadow Fothergilla has white honey-scented flowers in early spring. Its dense, multi-stemmed foliage stays silvery blue all summer. In the fall, its foliage changes to red, orange, and yellow. Blue Shadow thrives in rich, moist soil and sunny areas, but adapts to shady areas as well. Low-maintenance and trouble free, Blue Shadow Fothergilla bush rarely needs pruning.
Fothergilla (Bottlebrush), also known as Witch Alder, has stunning fall color with foliage shades of yellow, orange, and red. In mid-spring it produces white, honey-scented flowers that look like bottlebrushes. Fothergilla grows best in moist, rich soil and full to partial sun. It looks best planted along borders, as a hedge, or in woodland gardens. Fothergilla is native to North America.
