Little Quickfire® Hydrangea is a dwarf form of the popular ‘Quick Fire’ hydrangea. It is known for blooming much earlier than other panicle hydrangeas, usually starting around the 4th of July. Its lacecap-like, cone-shaped flowers can reach up to 6″ long. They start out white, gradually maturing to pink in the summer, and pink-red by late summer and fall. Little Quickfire® is versatile and not so picky about the ph of its soil.
Hydrangeas (paniculata) are known for blooming on new wood every year which makes them reliable bloomers. They are also extremely hardy and cold tolerant, making them an excellent choice for gardens. Hydrangeas prefer a full to part sun. Adaptable to many soils, moderate moisture is required. Hydrangeas look best planted along borders, mass plantings, or in containers. Prune the whole plant back by about one-third its total height each spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge on stems.
