Northland Blueberry Bush is known for having extreme cold tolerance and hardiness. This compact bush blooms white flowers that give way to clumps of medium sized, sweet blueberries. Northland has high sugar content making it excellent for baking and jams. It is self-pollinating, but produces heavier yields when pollinated with another variety. It produces its massive crop of berries in early to mid summer. Northland matures around 3-4′ tall.
When planting Blueberries, it’s best to plant two plants. They should be different varieties with overlapping bloom times. This will create cross-pollination and maximize your harvest. For the best fruit production, plant Blueberries in full sun. They prefer well-drained, highly acidic soil. It is also best to feed with an acidic fertilizer in the spring. In the fall Blueberries foliage turns shades of yellow and red.
