Nova Zembla

Nova Zembla Rhododendron is prized for its showy, bright red flowers with a dark red spot on its upper petal. These flowers appear in mid spring contrasting well with the deep, dark green foliage. If planted in sunny locations, these flowers will be more deep pink instead of red. Nova Zembla takes very little to no pruning, except removing its finished flowers if you so desire. It will grow anywhere, but prefers shady areas with acidic, well-drained soil. It is good to fertilize Nova Zembla with Holly-tone in the spring to give it a boost. 

Rhododendron Shrub

Rhododendron are popular for their ability to grow in deep shade. They are also known for their huge, vibrant flowers! Rhododendron thrive in acidic, well-drained soil. They are extremely easy to grow and low-maintenance. Although usually not needing pruning, you can prune these bushes immediately after spring flowering. Rhododendron look best planted along a border, as a stand-alone specimen, or in a privacy hedge.
