Purple Leaf Sand Cherry

Purple Leaf Sand Cherry is known for its striking reddish-purple foliage. In the spring, deep burgundy leaves emerge and maintain their color throughout the summer before turning a bronze-green or maroon in the fall. Also in the spring Purple Leaf produces fragrant clusters of small pale pink to white flowers. In mid-summer small black fruit appears, a food source for birds. Purple Leaf are often used in hedges.

 

Sand Cherry Bush

Sand Cherry (Prunus x cistena) are fast-growing, deciduous, shrubs known for their purple foliage. They produce fragrant flowers in the spring and small dark fruits in the summer. Its good to prune them after they are finished flowering. Sand Cherry thrive in full sun and well-drained soil.
